Concrete flatwork can be installed without any reinforcement. However, concrete flatwork shall develop chips or cracks over time, which are not only unsightly, but also a threat to the integrity of the structure. So, for additional durability and stability, the concrete flatwork needs to be installed with rebar or wire mesh reinforcement. Applications:
Pulwell fiberglass Rebar for Flatwork is intended for slab on ground applications such as: curbs, walkways, parking slabs, driveways, sidewalks, agricultural slabs,shed pad, steps, ramps, curved pathway, patios, lightweight paving and Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement (CRCP) for streets as well as swimming pool deck and surround and etc.
Handling & Placement
In general, field handling and placement is the same as for epoxy or galvanized steel bars. Do NOT shear fiberglass Rebar. When field cutting of Fiberglas Rebar is necessary, use a fine blade saw,grinder, carborundum or diamond blade. Sealing the ends of Fiberglas Rebar is not necessary. Support chairs are suggested at two-thirds the spacing of steel rebar. Plastic coated tie wire is the preferred option for most projects
Storage
Fiberglass rebars should remain covered and protected from UV exposure until ready for use and placement
